Adam Kimball Roberts Mission to Philippines Quezon City Mission

Alrighty so yeah I still  haven't seen conference because of the time difference we don't watch it till next week (it wouldn't really make sense to watch Saturday conference on Sunday and Sunday conference on Monday) But anywho thanks for the spoilers everyone (mostly just grandma) but its all good because we had a straight miracle happen this week so let me tell you fools about it because it was legit!  So here's the thing since I have gotten to this area we have been teaching this girl named Ashante and she loves the lessons and going to church and her mom and sister are both members but her dad apparently hates other religions other than his own  So my first week me and my companion went on splits and he went to Ashante's house to teach her and apparently her dad went nuts on him and basically like made him leave and stuff. No good apparently so my first companion in this area was just terrified of this dude  It doesn't help that her dads got like 2 f

So we had something crazy awesome happen this week!  So the other day we had a member come to us and tell us that she had a referral which of course I was pumped so we went to her referrals house and we were teaching just the mom and one of her daughters because the dad was at work and the lesson was going pretty well and then boom the dad comes home early for like no reason and here's the thing from my experiences with dads I'm not really a fan usually they either just couldn't care less or directly oppose us.  So I was alittle nervous but boom this guy was awesome he joined in on the lesson and participated and at the end was like "This is weird because I usually get home from work at like 7 or 8 (it was like 4 when we were there)" and that he believes there was a reason why he got to get off work early.  Not just that but yesterday the whole family came to church AFTER JUST ONE LESSON! and basically a nightmare happened at church because it was fifth Sunday

So I'mma start out with saying that training an American has made me way less excited to come home. Don't get me wrong he's a super nice guy and I think we get along really well (he probably hates me considering how I felt about my trainer) but just I've gotten way worse at English (I talk like I'm like a 12 year old immigrant gangster because all that's left of my English is simple English and slang haha hindi mabuti)  but its all good. Also here's a story that happened the other day so here in the Philippines there are sooooo many ants and they are everywhere like it'll be like I'm eating a sandwich at my desk and then I walk away for like 2 seconds come back and boom! The sandwich is just covered in ants like it'll be like I put some food in my back and at the end of the day I open my bag which I've been carrying around all day and boom yep full of ants. Yeah things are going good.  I finally have a companion his name is Elder Wood notice the name is not Elder Kahoy (which means wood in Tagalog).  It's Elder Wood which means this dude is an American Oh yeah and hes brand new in the mission and so hasn't had a ton of experience in Tagalog so..... haha patay tayo dian! haha but its all good because I'm a Filipino. Anyways so we'll be fine! haha  But finding has been great because now literally everyone's head turns because we got two times the white guy so yeah I'm training again which I mean that's fine I guess "Na sanay na ako (I'm used to it)"  But more cool news because I'm the district leader I interview the missionaries in my districts investigators and so last Sunday I got to interview this little girl named Samantha who has cancer and is just the nicest little girl in the whole world. She's way pumped for her baptism! At the end of her interview I had her give the prayer and

Ok so considering what happened the past couple days (Dad got in a major Bike accident and is in the hospital) I thought I'd share something especially for my parents. So I have been thinking on it and then realized what happened last Sunday and thought this would be a good story for them. So yeah if you guys didn't know this I was a pretty hyper crazy little kid the best way to describe me would be "Makulit" you guys don't know what that means because its Tagalog and doesn't really have an English equivalent but lets just say it means like: stubborn and hyper and loud kinda.  But then again not really honestly no real English for it but yeah that was me and I know i gave my parents headaches a lot. Probably but to make them feel better right now I'd like to tell you guys how I gained a testimony of karma. So heres the important thing that happened this week... 3 of our investigators got baptized so that was awesome!  But now it's time to explain why my title is what is it  Well I don't have a companion anymore my companion who I was training is now in Provo learning Korean.  So yeah no more companion.   So technically I'm in a 3some with the elders I am room mates with but.... yeah they have their own area and ward so everyday I just leave and work with members... which sucks Imma be real, being the only actual set apart missionary while you are teaching is rough especially because I work with a different person a lot so BRT is suuuper hard because there is a new face everytime we teach So every lesson everyone's got to introduce themselves and a lot of the time our investigators act like shy around the new companion. Not just that but the member doesn't come to the house till 10 am to work so i do all my studies basically by myself and plan by myself (the tw

Yeah so tomorrow I'll be at one year left which as much as I wish I could add another year president says "I can't"  But anywho things are going awesome over here! Now that I'm half way done I find myself getting frustrated a lot because I'll learn something in the language or teaching or the gospel and get super mad because its like "Yeah great I went an entire year without knowing that half way through and i just figured that out!"  But it's all good not much to report just get ready for a lot more "Binyags" (Baptisms) this next year!!
