Mission Pa Rin (Again)

So if you remember my last email about the pastor debating with me this story is about what happened because of that. 

Ok so where it took place was in this super poor squatters area in our area and so basically everyone knows everyone because in these squatters areas the walls are like paper thin and they all live right next to each other. They all kinda rely on each other like if the jeepnie driver didn't make enough money to feed his family that day he can just go to his neighbors and they will give him food and then the next day he has a better day so he just like shares his food with everyone. This is just so awesome, you gotta love Filipinos! 

Anywho so word spread about what happened with the pastor. Because they heard about that we have had a few people come up and be like yoooo are you that white dude that speaks Tagalog and debated with the INC (Iglesia ni Christo)? and I'm just kinda like yeah that's me! And then they are like no way! We can't stand those guys! And then they usually start like trash talking the INC and that gives us the beautiful opportunity  to say "hindi kami dito para sirahin ang mga ibang religion. Andito na po kami para daigdaigan ang pananampalitaya ng mga tao at tulungan po sila na lumapit kay jesukristo" (We aren't here to destroy other religions we are here to add to peoples faith and help them draw closer to Christ) and then I'm like "Yo can we teach you?" and they are like yeah! as long as you guys aren't Iglesia Ni Christo come on in! 

There has also been a few people that heard about me quoting bible versus and so they were like "Oh dang I love the bible!" so then they invite us over to talk about the bible and usually we start talking about the bible and then use certain versus in the bible to introduce the Book of Mormon and quote versus from it and use that to lead to the lesson about the restoration and how the Book of Mormon came to be. 

So yeah I was really mad about what happened with that pastor because to me it felt like such a waste of time especially because I know as soon as we left he just trash talked us without us there so we couldn't defend our faith so it felt like I didn't accomplish anything but yeah it turns out it actually payed off haha!

The Problem OK so I was preferring to have no one know this but this story is pretty funny so I'll just tell you.  Both the toenails on my big toes decided to go into all out rebellion and tried to dig for gold in their designated toes. it didn't start out that bad. What caused it is since it's the rainy season right now I've been wearing these airtight water proof rubber shoes and they are nice for keeping water out but they are pretty tight so it caused the little chitin monsters down stairs to go on strike. Which was just kinda painful. But then they went into all out rebellion when I decided to listen to their painful objections, and wore my normal shoes. My normal shoes do not have the helpful function of being water proof when the rains came down and the floods came up. So my feet got soaked and apparently toenails do not like being soaked in filthy poisonous Filipino rain water so they were completely irate and just made a massive mess of the mining sight t

Temple November 5, 2018

Hey, we went to the temple today so I'll be sending pictures in a minute but other than that just get ready for some pretty cool things to happen over the next 3 weeks Dec 11, 2017 Dear Adam, Thinking about your sweet letter today about going on Splits and your realization that Jesus Christ is always your companion. Thought about several scriptures that reminded me of your experience. First was 2 Nephi 4: 35 especially “I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Pig Latin

Things are going good here Pig Latin: This happened a while ago but everyone thinks it's funny when I tell it so I'll just tell it to you. Pig Latin  OK so a little while ago I was talking to a lady and she told me she spoke 5 languages!!!  Mandarin, Tagalog, English, Spanish, and Ilongo and then said like "So you ONLY speak English and Tagalog right?"  I was thinking like lady I don't even speak Tagalog but alright... so jokingly " I say nah I know Pig Latin." And then I like chuckle and dead serious she's like "Wow that's so cool. So many Americans just know English. Where is that spoken?" ...  Me getting more uncomfortable.
