Missionary Stuff Feb 4, 2019

ok so people (my family seems pretty livid about how my last email went so i guess ill give you guys a few more details about the week i guess

alright so the other day we were teaching this new investigator for the first time and it was pretty cool because we like are teaching about prophets and dispensations and hes like yeah why dont churches have prophets anymore? it would be so nice if we still had prophets! which we are like yeah prophets would be super nice wouldnt they? and then we keep going and we talk about Jesus Christ and his earthly ministery and then he brings up the bible and how there are just way to many different versions of the bible that there is no way we could just rely on just the bible we need more scriptures and asked why god didnt give us more scriptures than just the bible which i was thinking like bro i need you to chill we are getting there! we arent even at apostacy yet i promise everything will make sense in just a minute but we gotta explain this in the right order! ok so we teach about the apostasy and how all the doctrines of Christs gospel was changed and people just made their own churches and how the Priesthood and prophets went away and my man is like "noo! man if only God would just come down and tell people what we need to do!" and i was thinking like yesssss perfect so then we are like "well my man there was this dude named Joseph Smith and straight up that is exactly what happened! also remember how you wished we still had prophets well guess what! He became a prophet and got the priesthood again" which man seems pretty pumped about and then we are like "also remember how you said the bible just isnt enough and is kinda unreliable because of all the different versions? well guess what! we could not agree more so because of that god gave Joseph smith this dope ancient record and he translated it" which hes like completely like on board by this point so we committed him to come to church this sunday and hes like yeah totally i will come! well he wasnt there at church which was kinda a bummer but hopefully he had a good reason he wasnt there not just like he changed his mind or something
anywho thats all the stories i can muster sorry its not that graet but i mean yall can wait till i get home for the better stories that i either dont want to tell you yet or just take too much effort to type

Naoperahan Ako (I operated)

The Problem OK so I was preferring to have no one know this but this story is pretty funny so I'll just tell you.  Both the toenails on my big toes decided to go into all out rebellion and tried to dig for gold in their designated toes. it didn't start out that bad. What caused it is since it's the rainy season right now I've been wearing these airtight water proof rubber shoes and they are nice for keeping water out but they are pretty tight so it caused the little chitin monsters down stairs to go on strike. Which was just kinda painful. But then they went into all out rebellion when I decided to listen to their painful objections, and wore my normal shoes. My normal shoes do not have the helpful function of being water proof when the rains came down and the floods came up. So my feet got soaked and apparently toenails do not like being soaked in filthy poisonous Filipino rain water so they were completely irate and just made a massive mess of the mining sight t...

Vision

Ok so here's the thing I've been in the mission for a while now! (14 months)  and i had something happen that hasn't happened my entire mission!  I had an investigator who had her prayers answered through a dream OK so here's the story. So we go to one of our investigators who we have been teaching for a while but has only gone to church once but loves the lessons but isn't showing a lot of progression outside of the lessons so we come in kinda getting the listen we love teaching you and we love you guys thing going but we might not teach you as much anymore talk going. Basically the friend zone of missionary work  Anywho before I do that I get some followup going ask her about prayer and she's like a pray every night. Prayers good!  Aight um hows your Book of Mormon reading goin? and shes like well I read Alma 25. Which I'm thinking like "Uhhh that's not what we had assigned but hey she read!
